A very rare item. I have looked for its like and only once i ten years have i found one, it was priced at £650, mind you this was through a dealer but four years ago.
Having owned this since the early 90ties and removed it from our last house it has been in dry storage for the last 12 years. It did not suit our present house.
Now we are on the move again and the houses we are looking at will again not suit, so my wife informs me!
local folk lore has it , so i am told, that giving the rams nose a rub each morning brings one good luck!
When we first got it it was covered with years of paint, however lairds at saunders row was then still open and i, managed to get it shot blasted profesionaly. Wow what a transformation! The detail of the casting is gorgeous and on professional advice was polished with Zebright and has been maintained ever since withe the same giving it a lovely gun metal finish.
When in use with us it was only used as a decorative facard in the lounge with a potted plant set inside.
I wil be sad to see it go but needs must ! can
